Vincent Desharnais - Manages helper Desharnais notched an assist and two blocked shots in Monday's 4-3 win over the Sharks.
Impact The helper was Desharnais' first sine Dec. 6 against the Blue Jackets. The 28-year-old defenseman has played in 10 of the Canucks' 12 games so far in December, filling a bottom-four role while Tyler Myers is on the top pairing to cover Filip Hronek's (lower body) absence. Desharnais has limited scoring upside -- he has just three helpers to go with 32 hits, 32 blocked shots, 15 shots on net, 15 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 22 appearances.

Nils Hoglander - Snaps slump with helper Hoglander notched an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 4-3 win over the Sharks.
Impact Hoglander had been scratched for the previous two games but drew back into the lineup Monday. Perhaps he should have gone to the press box earlier -- in his return to the ice, he snapped a 21-game point drought with a helper on Kiefer Sherwood's go-ahead goal in the second period. The 24-year-old Hoglander has six points, 30 shots on net, 36 hits and a minus-3 rating over 32 appearances. He's squandered all the progress he made after a 36-point regular season in 2023-24, and it looks like he'll have to compete to stay in even a bottom-six role moving forward.

Impact Blueger has a goal and five helpers over his last 10 outings. The 30-year-old continues to produce in a depth role -- he's been on the fourth line officially in recent contests, though his defensive acumen allows him to play a larger role on the ice. For the season, the center is at 16 points, 40 shots on net, 49 hits, 22 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 34 appearances. He's on pace to exceed the 30-point mark for the first time in his career.

Impact DeBrusk has 10 points over 12 outings in December, though four of those points came in his first game of the month. His helper Monday was his first assist since Dec. 1. The 28-year-old winger is up to 15 goals, 10 helpers, 75 shots on net, 51 hits, 23 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 34 appearances this season. DeBrusk has been a good fit with the Canucks and is on pace to reach the 50-point mark for the second time in his career.

Impact Miller has a helper in back-to-back games and five assists over his last seven outings. The 31-year-old topped 20 minutes for just the second time in that span. He now has six goals, 15 assists, seven power-play points, 43 shots on net, 54 hits and a minus-1 rating through 24 appearances this season. Another 100-point season is likely out of the question, but Miller should flirt with a point-per-game pace the rest of the way.

Impact Hughes was labeled a game-time decision due to an undisclosed injury prior to Monday's game. He played and delivered a good performance over 24:45 of ice time, his lowest workload in the last six games. The superstar defenseman has racked up a goal and seven assists over his last five contests. He's at eight goals, 34 helpers, 109 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and a plus-14 rating through 34 appearances. While whatever was ailing Hughes was something he could play through, he'll get a chance to rest anyway with the Canucks off until Saturday's game versus the Kraken.

Kiefer Sherwood - Tallies in Monday's win Sherwood scored a goal on two shots, added two hits and blocked two shots in Monday's 4-3 win over the Sharks.
Impact For the first time this season, Sherwood was held to fewer than three hits. He was listed on the fourth line and saw 12:58 of ice time. In December, the winger has six goals, one assist and 60 hits over 12 contests as he continues to be a solid source of depth scoring. He's now at 12 goals, 19 points, 68 shots on net, 200 hits and a plus-9 rating through 34 outings overall.

Boeser is a little behind his pace from last year, which yielded a 73-point regular season, but he remains a strong scorer in a top-six role.

Thatcher Demko - Holds on for win Demko stopped 26 of 29 shots in Monday's 4-3 win over the Sharks.
Impact Demko earned his second win of the season in this contest. He had a 4-1 lead to protect after two periods, and while the Sharks scored twice in the final frame, they didn't have enough time to even the score. The 29-year-old goalie improved to 2-1-2 with a 3.14 GAA and an .889 save percentage over five games. Demko will get a little time to rest before Saturday's matinee home matchup against the Kraken.

Elias Pettersson - Leaves Monday's game Pettersson (undisclosed) departed Monday's 4-3 win against the Sharks after suffering an injury in the second period, per Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650.
Impact Head coach Rick Tocchet relayed that Pettersson tried one shift in the third period before leaving the contest. Tocchet also said "We've got the break. I don't think it's too bad. We'll see how it is." The 26-year-old Pettersson scored two goals on four shots in 14:56 of ice time before exiting, snapping a six-game point drought in the process. The Swedish center's status will be worth monitoring ahead of Saturday's divisional matchup against the Kraken.
