J.T. Miller - Power game continues to shine Miller had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss to the Lightning on Thursday.
Impact He hammered in a rebound at 18:11 of the third to cut the score to 4-3, but the Canucks couldn't knot things up. Miller has two goals, four assists, 16 hits, 10 shots and 47 face-off wins (52.2) in his first four games. He's coming off two consecutive 32-goal seasons and has 181 points in the same span. Miller is on track to deliver similar numbers again, especially if he can get his shots per game up, as he has just 10 total over four contests so far.

Elias Pettersson - Off to record start Pettersson had two assists in a 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Thursday.
Impact The helpers give Pettersson seven overall, which puts him in the same class as Daniel Sedin (2014-15) and Henrik Sedin (2013-14) as the only Canucks in the past 35 seasons to pick up six or more apples in their first four games of the season. Pettersson is off to an incredible start to the season and is quieting detractors who didn't think he was worthy of a first-round fantasy pick. His eight points (one goal, seven assists) have him on top of the NHL alongside Alex DeBrincat.

Thatcher Demko - Another strong outing Demko made 31 saves in a 4-3 loss to the Lightning on Thursday.
Impact Demko played a strong game. He made a pair of strong saves on Steven Stamkos on a first period power play before Nick Paul shovelled in a rebound. And Demko had no chance on Nikita Kucherov's first goal -- he was screened by an army in front and didn't even catch a glimpse of the puck. Demko has put up several strong performances this year and appears to have shed the smell of last year's poor season.

Brock Boeser - In record book with goal Boeser scored a goal Thursday in a 4-3 loss to the Lightning.
Impact Boeser, who put in four goals in the season opener against Edmonton, is the first Vancouver player with five goals in his first four contests since Alexander Mogilny did it in 1995-96. Boeser's goal Thursday came on a sharp one-timer from the slot off a feed from J.T. Miller. Boeser is doing all he can to put his last two mediocre seasons behind him. So far, so good.

Impact Demko had a disappointing 2022-23 season, going 14-14-4 with a 3.16 GAA and a .901 save percentage. He seems to have turned it around in the early going this season, having given up only three goals on 64 shots. The 23-year-old winger spent all of last season playing in his native Czech Republic for Olomouc HC and likely doesn't want to make the jump to North America. This almost certainly closes the door on Plasek ever playing in the NHL.
