GAME LOG

INJURIES

Collects first playoff point Helenius notched an assist and two hits in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Impact The helper was Helenius' first career playoff point. He was in the lineup for all six playoff contests but averaged just 3:57 of ice time per game in a fourth-line role. The physical forward had 14 hits to go with one shot on goal and two blocked shots this postseason. He also had seven points, 29 shots, 150 hits and 25 PIM over 50 regular-season outings. Helenius will compete for a steadier role in 2025-26, though it wouldn't be surprising if he spends some time at AHL Ontario next year.

Surprise two-goal scorer Helenius scored twice on three shots, doled out four hits, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Kraken.
Impact Helenius ended an 11-game point drought in style. He opened the scoring at 15:14 of the first period and then added the Kings' last goal in the third, which ended up being the game-winner when the Kraken rallied close but couldn't tie it. This was Helenius' first multi-point outing in the NHL. He's posted four goals, three assists, 29 shots on net, 145 hits and a plus-1 rating over 49 appearances in a bottom-six role this season.

Finds twine Sunday Helenius scored a goal, added two hits and went plus-2 in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Bruins.
Impact Helenius has two points over his last two games after going 10 contests without a point at the NHL level. The 22-year-old's role is unlikely to change -- the Kings' strong forward depth keeps Helenius locked in on the fourth line, but he's at least played well enough to stay in the lineup. He's at five points, 21 shots on net, 113 hits, 21 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 37 appearances, bringing a physical edge to the roster.

First helper since recall Helenius logged an assist and two hits in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Impact Helenius set up an Adrian Kempe tally at 3:03 of the first period. The assist was Helenius' first point in nine games since he was recalled from AHL Ontario on March 5. The good news is he's sticking in the lineup, but only in a fourth-line role that has rarely led to offense or even significant ice time. Helenius has four points, 20 shots on net, 111 hits, 21 PIM and a minus-1 rating across 36 NHL appearances this season.

Recalled from AHL Helenius was called up from AHL Ontario on Saturday.
Impact Helenius has played 28 games with the Kings this season, tallying one goal and a pair of assists. The 22-year-old center had two goals and four assists in 20 AHL contests before his recall.
MARCH 8 • ROTOWIRE
Returned to AHL affiliate Helenius was reassigned to AHL Ontario on Thursday, Russell Morgan of Hockey Royalty reports.
Impact Helenius was recalled Wednesday and saw 6:46 of ice time with one hit versus St. Louis. Overall, Helenius has one goal and two assists with 81 hits over 28 games with the Kings this season. Helenius had two goals, four assists and 38 PIM over 20 AHL appearances before his recall.
MARCH 6 • ROTOWIRE
Up from AHL Helenius was summoned by the Kings on Wednesday, per Russell Morgan of Hockey Royalty.
Impact Helenius has a goal, three points and 14 PIM in 27 appearances with Los Angeles in 2024-25. He's also recorded two goals, six points and 38 PIM in 20 outings with AHL Ontario.
MARCH 5 • ROTOWIRE
Set for demotion Helenius is expected to be sent down to AHL Ontario on Wednesday, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports.
Impact Helenius appears to be the odd man out in Los Angeles, as the team needs a roster spot to activate Drew Doughty (ankle) off long-term injured reserve. In his 27 appearances this season, the 22-year-old Helenius has generated one goal, two assists and 16 shots while dishing out 80 hits. The demotion of Helenius could create more opportunities for Akil Thomas -- though the Kings may also decide to deploy seven blueliners instead.

Nets first NHL tally Helenius scored a goal in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers.
Impact Helenius had not gotten on the scoresheet since Nov. 16 when he had an assist versus the Red Wings. This was his first NHL goal. He's been a bottom-six player for much of the last two months aside from a four-game stretch of scratches earlier in January. Helenius is up to three points, 16 shots on net, 73 hits, 14 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 25 appearances as a rookie. Helenius may be at risk of losing his spot in the lineup once Alex Laferriere (upper body) can return, or if the Kings return to dressing seven defensemen.

Recalled Wednesday Helenius was summoned by the Kings on Wednesday, according to Kyle Garcia of Hockey Royalty.
Impact Helenius has two assists and 14 PIM in 21 outings with the Kings in 2024-25. He also has two goals, three points and 29 PIM in nine appearances with AHL Ontario.
JANUARY 15 • ROTOWIRE
Sent down to minors Helenius was reassigned to AHL Ontario on Tuesday.
Impact Helenius has been a healthy scratch for his last four NHL games, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to see him heading down to the minors to get some game action. The 22-year-old center could still be brought up ahead of Thursday's matchup with Vancouver -- though he likely will be hard-pressed to break into the lineup even if he is on the roster.
JANUARY 14 • ROTOWIRE
Sits out Saturday Helenius was scratched for Saturday's 2-1 win over the Lightning.
Impact Helenius had played in the prior 15 games, averaging 8:14 of ice time in that span while failing to record a point. If the Kings decide they don't need to roster 14 forwards, Helenius could be a player they consider reassigning to AHL Ontario now the team's forward group is fully healthy. The 22-year-old has just two assists and 70 hits through 21 appearances this season.
JANUARY 5 • ROTOWIRE
Rejoins Los Angeles Helenius was summoned from AHL Ontario on Tuesday.
Impact Helenius was sent to the Reign on Monday, but he's now back with the Kings. The 22-year-old has collected two assists through nine games this season.
DECEMBER 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Heading to AHL Helenius was assigned to AHL Ontario on Monday.
Impact Helenius has made nine appearances for the Kings this year, logging two assists and 31 hits while averaging 8:19 of ice time. He was sent down in mid-November in what turned out to be a paper transaction, and it's possible that he also rejoins the NHL club ahead of the Kings' matchup against the Stars on Wednesday.
DECEMBER 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Recalled from minors Helenius was called up from AHL Ontario on Monday.
Impact It seems Helenius' demotion to the minors Sunday was a paper transaction with the forward now officially back on the NHL roster. Looking ahead to Wednesday's clash with the Sabres, it will likely come down to Helenius or Akil Thomas for the spot on the fourth line. In his four appearances for the Kings, the 21-year-old Helenius has garnered two assists, four shots and 12 hits.
NOVEMBER 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Sent to minors Helenius was loaned to AHL Ontario on Sunday.
Impact Helenius could be back with the Kings in short order if this transaction was completed for cap-related purposes. The left-shot center picked up two points over four games with Los Angeles.
NOVEMBER 17, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Notches assist Saturday Helenius posted an assist, three hits and four blocked shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.
Impact Helenius has two helpers over his first four NHL outings. The 21-year-old hasn't hesitated to show toughness either, racking up 12 hits, seven PIM and four blocked shots while filling a fourth-line role. Helenius was called up to cover for Tanner Jeannot's three-game suspension, but Jeannot was back Saturday, so it's unclear if Helenius will stick around the NHL much longer. He's done enough to get a longer look.
