Chase McLaughlin - Back to full practice McLaughlin (abdomen) returned to a full practice Thursday.
Impact McLaughlin should be good to go for Sunday's Week 1 opener against the Commanders. The 28-year-old kicker made a career-best 93.5 percent of his field goal attempts last season, going 29 of 31 while making all 33 of his extra points. The big year earned McLaughlin a three-year, $12.3 million deal in the offseason.

Christian Izien - Absent from injury report Izien (leg) was not listed on the Buccaneers' injury report Wednesday.
Impact Izien had been dealing with a leg injury towards the tail end of training camp, but he appears to be fully healthy ahead of Sunday's regular-season opener against the Commanders. Izien finished 2023 with 65 tackles (47 solo), two passes defended, two interceptions and one forced fumble across 17 regular-season games.

Trey Palmer - Stays full Thursday Palmer (concussion) was a full practice participant Thursday.
Impact As he was Wednesday, Palmer did enough on the practice field to be listed as full, but there's been no indication from the Buccaneers that he's cleared the concussion protocol, which he's been in since at least Aug. 23. The team can shed any questions about his status Friday by not giving him a designation ahead Sunday's game against the Commanders, which would put him in the mix for targets along with Jalen McMillan behind starting wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

2024-25 Super Bowl predictions: Experts pick who will play in, win SB LIX
Joe Tryon-Shoyinka - Full participant in practice Tron-Shoyinka (shoulder) practiced in full during Wednesday's session.
Impact Tryon-Shoyinka has been dealing with a shoulder sprain since early August, which kept him out of the Bucs' three preseason games. Now that he's healthy, the 2021 first-round pick will serve as Tampa Bay's starting outside linebacker opposite Yaya Diaby. Tryon-Shoyinka finished the 2023 regular season with 45 tackles (28 solo), including a career-high 5.0 sacks, across 17 games.

Yaya Diaby - Practices in full Wednesday Diaby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice session.
Impact Diaby sustained a high-ankle sprain in late July, which kept him out of training camp for all of August, but he appears healthy enough to participate in team drills. The 2023 third-round pick is slated to start at outside linebacker opposite Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. In his rookie season, Diaby recorded 38 tackles (25 solo), including 7.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries over 17 regular-season games.

Impact Funderbunk missed the last couple of weeks recovering from an ankle injury, but it appears he'll be back in time for Tampa Bay's Week 1 contest Sunday. Now that Funderbunk is back at full health, the 23-year-old is expected to serve as one of the Buccaneers' top rotational cornerbacks in 2024.

He figures to play a similar role in 2024.
