Impact After suiting up for both of the Buccaneers' first two preseason games, Palmer sat out Friday's exhibition win against the Dolphins, even though starters not named WR Mike Evans were available. Palmer now is among three of the team's wide receivers dealing with undisclosed health concerns -- also, Sterling Shepard and Rakim Jarrett -- so he'll use the time before Week 1 to get back to 100 percent. Impact Per Smith, coach Todd Bowles told the Buccaneers Radio Network that neither Evans nor LB Lavonte David will face Miami in the team's final exhibition contest. However, the duo's absence is not injury-related, rather it's a case of them getting the night off, like a 'veteran' day in practice. Evans' next game action will thus occur when he lines up in Tampa Bay's starting lineup against the Commander on Sept. 8.

Jalen McMillan - Slated for WR3 role McMillan is expected to handle third receiver duties in Tampa Bay this season, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Impact "In the Bucs' three receiver sets, McMillan will line up opposite Mike Evans with Chris Godwin in the slot," Laine wrote. Trey Palmer finished a distant third in targets amongst wide receivers on the Bucs with 68 of them last season, but Tampa Bay used a third-round pick on McMillan back in April, bumping Palmer down the depth chart to WR4. Evans paced the team with 136 looks, and Godwin was a close second at 130. McMillan could have a couple big games in the box score, but it would be a complete surprise if he sees anywhere near the targets as Evans or Godwin.

Impact The starting RB often plays less than other starters, but White figures to at least take a few snaps in the only action Tampa's first-team offense will get this preseason. He's locked in atop the depth chart again, although there's some thought rookie fourth-round pick Bucky Irving will have a bigger role than last year's group of backups ever managed. White led all RBs with 823 snaps in the regular season last year, tying for second in carries (272) and ninth in targets (70) despite averaging just 3.6 yards per carry. His 91.4 percent catch rate led all qualified pass catchers, and 7.8 yards per target was the fourth-best mark among qualified RBs.
