INJURIES

Mike Edwards - Good to go against Dallas Edwards (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Impact Edwards has missed the Buccaneers' last two games due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 13 against the Panthers. We logged an LP/LP/FP practice week, and he's done enough to be cleared for Sunday night's game. Edwards will reclaim his starting spot at strong safety alongside free safety Kaevon Merriweather.

K.J. Britt - Inactive for Week 16 Britt (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Impact As expected, Britt will miss his third straight game due to an ankle injury, and his next opportunity to play will be Week 17 against the Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 29. Vi Jones and J.J. Russell are the top candidates to start at inside linebacker alongside Lavonte David due to Britt's injury.

Cade Otton - Predictably ruled out Otton (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's contest against the Cowboys, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Impact This was predictable, as Otton was listed as doubtful following Friday's final injury report. Given the starting end won't travel with the team to Dallas, Payne Durham, Ko Kieft and Devin Culp will likely act as a positional platoon in an effort to replace Otton's multi-faceted capabilities.

K.J. Britt - Likely missing Week 16 Britt (ankle) is listed as doubtful ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact The Auburn product has missed each of Tampa Bay's last two games due to an ankle injury, and despite limited practice sessions Thursday and Friday, it appears likely he'll miss his third game in a row Sunday. If Britt is sidelined in Week 16 as expected, Vi Jones is likely to start alongside Lavonte David as part of the Buccaneers' top inside linebacker duo.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Mike Edwards - Questionable for Week 16 Edwards (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Edwards appears to be trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's contest, as he upgraded from limited practice sessions Wednesday and Thursday to a full go Friday. However, if the veteran safety is unable to suit up in Week 16, expect Christian Izien to step in and start alongside Kaevon Merriweather.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Christian Izien - Ready to rock Izien (groin) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact The undrafted second-year pro from Rutgers upgraded to full practice Friday after beginning the week with back-to-back limited sessions, so it appears he's recovered from his groin injury in time to suit up in Week 16. Izien has played all over the field for the Bucs' defense, and he's expected to serve as the team's top reserve safety and cornerback Sunday.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Tykee Smith - Past knee injury Smith (knee) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact After opening the Bucs' week of practice with consecutive limited sessions, Smith logged a full workload Friday, suggesting he's moved past his knee injury in time to play Sunday. With the rookie safety from Georgia back at full health, he's expected to serve as Tampa Bay's top slot cornerback in Week 16.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Kameron Johnson - Missing Week 16 Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Despite a full week of practice, Johnson will remain on injured reserve and be held out of the Buccaneers' Week 16 contest. His practice window was opened Dec. 12, giving Tampa Bay until Jan. 2 to activate him to its active roster. Expect Johnson to serve as a depth piece in the Bucs' wide receiver room when he returns from injury.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Payne Durham - May have bigger role Sunday Durham could have an expanded role Sunday in Dallas with Cade Otton (knee) listed as doubtful for that contest, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Impact More snaps for Durham may not result in an expanded role in the passing game, as he's earned just two targets in 13 games this season. Position mates Ko Kieft and Devin Culp, a rookie seventh-round pick, haven't been targeted at all, though, so Durham at least should be an option for QB Baker Mayfield considering the workload he likely will be taking on. In 26 appearances as a pro to date, Durham has a 7-92-0 line on nine targets, which is good for a 77.8 percent catch rate and 10.2 YPT.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Sterling Shepard - Ready for Week 16 Shepard (foot) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at Dallas, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Ahead of a Week 15 matchup with the Chargers, Shepard managed just one limited practice (Friday) due to a foot injury but still suited up this past Sunday, earning a 50 percent snap share and catching his only target for 16 yards. This time around, he sat out Wednesday but followed it up with back-to-back capped sessions due to the same health concern. With his status cleared for Week 16, Shepard will remain the No. 3 WR behind top options Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Bucky Irving - Ready to play Irving (back/hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Dallas, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Irving has been playing through the hip injury all month and made an early exit Week 14 due to the back injury. He still hasn't missed a game this season, coming back last week to take 15 carries for 117 yards in a 40-17 win over the Chargers. Rachaad White and Sean Tucker also got carries in the blowout win, but both padded their stats late in the game, especially Tucker. Prior to the final two drives, Irving took 53 percent of snaps and 17 of the 30 RB touches, which is probably a reasonable expectation for his share of Tampa Bay's backfield Week 16 at Dallas.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Cade Otton - Doubtful for Sunday Otton (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Otton returned to practice Friday as a limited participant, using a large brace over his left knee, with Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles telling reporters that he expected the tight end to be a game-time decision Sunday. Things may not have gone as well in practice as Bowles was hoping for, and the Bucs now consider Otton unlikely to play, leaving Payne Durham, Ko Kieft and Devin Culp as candidates to pick up extra snaps at tight end. Durham has been getting the most playing time of the bunch in recent weeks, but he's caught just two passes all season (which is two more than Kieft or Culp).
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Cade Otton - Likely game-time decision Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles said Friday that he expects Otton (knee) to be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with Dallas, according to The Pewter Report.
Impact Otton handled his usual, near-every-down role in last week's win over the Chargers but then missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. River Wells of Bucs Gameday spotted Otton at practice Friday, albeit with a large brace over his injured left knee. The Buccaneers figure to list their starting tight end as questionable on the final injury report unless he emerges from practice with a setback.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Antoine Winfield Jr. - Ruled out for Sunday Winfield (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Impact Winfield suffered a knee injury against the Raiders in Week 14, and head coach Todd Bowles said he would be missing multiple weeks. The fifth-year safety will now miss back-to-back matchups, and it's unknown whether he'll be able to return for Week 17 versus Carolina.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
K.J. Britt - Returns to practice Thursday Britt (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Impact Britt has missed the Buccaneers' last two games due to an ankle injury. His return to practice Thursday is a positive step in his progression through his rehab, and Friday's injury report will indicate his chances of playing Sunday against Dallas. Through 12 regular-season games, Britt has registered 66 tackles (35 solo), including 0.5 sacks, and one pass defense.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Trey Palmer - Working through illness Palmer (illness) was listed as a DNP on Thursday's injury report.
Impact Palmer hasn't registered a catch over his last three games and it appears he is now under the weather. It's unclear what sort of ailment he's working through, but Friday's practice report should provide clarity on Palmer's status heading into Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Sterling Shepard - Limited Thursday Shepard (foot) practiced on a limited basis Thursday.
Impact Shepard thus has made a bit of progress after sitting out Wednesday's session due to a foot injury and even is ahead of last week's practice regimen, when he didn't get back on the field until Friday as a limited participant. This Friday's practice report will reveal whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's contest in Dallas.
