Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has a hairline knee fracture, still might play Sunday
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has a hairline fracture in his knee, but it’s not nearly as bad as it sounds.
Following an odd amount of back and forth this week on whether and when Bryant would have an MRI after injuring the knee during Sunday’s win against the Chicago Bears, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett told reporters Wednesday that Garrett does have a fracture but that it’s only a day-to-day injury.
Bryant hasn’t yet been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Bryant, who missed seven games last season with injuries, is off to a slow start for a player who topped 1,200 receiving yards in each season from 2012 to 2014. Through three games, he has just 11 catches for 150 yards and one touchdown. Last season, the 27-year-old two-time Pro Bowl selection had only 31 catches for 401 yards and three TDs.
