La La: I think ’Melo ‘definitely’ will be with Knicks next season

Where will Carmelo Anthony play next season?

It’s sure to be one of THE hot-button topics through the conclusion of this season and into the offseason. Or is it?

According to the one person who should know ‘Melo’s mind better than anyone, his home team for next season is a done deal.

"I definitely think he will stay [with the New York Knicks]" La La Anthony said in an interview with "Watch What Happens Live" on Bravo on Sunday night.

Anthony can opt-out of his deal after this season, and has said that he intends to test the free-agent market. There have been plenty of rumors on where the All-Star and Olympic gold medalist will play next season, which will tip off after Anthony turns 30. One person who has been particularly vocal since Anthony broke the Knicks’ single-game record with 62 points on Friday is injured Lakers star and Team USA teammate Kobe Bryant.

"Well, everybody wants to play in Los Angeles," Bryant said after Anthony also smashed the Madison Square Garden single-game record with his 62 — a record which Bryant had held with 61. "I mean, New York’s a beautiful place, don’t get me wrong. but it is colder than s**t [in New York]. You know, palm trees and beaches obviously are a little more appealing."

Anthony then went out and dropped 35 on the Lakers in a 110-103 Knicks win on Sunday. The Knicks can offer ‘Melo a max deal of five years, $129 million under the current collective bargaining agreement; other teams’ max offer can be four years, $96 million. The Knicks are currently 17-27, in third place in the Eastern Conference and outside of the playoff picture.
