Houston Rockets set NBA record for 3-pointers made in a regular-season game

On Friday night, the surging Houston Rockets continued their hot start to the season with a dominating 122-100 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Along the way, the Rockets made NBA history by making 24 three-pointers, the most ever in a regular-season NBA game. The barrage of long-range jumpers was nothing short of dizzying:

The 24 three-point makes wasn't the only NBA record the team broke on Friday — in addition, the Rockets set NBA single-game highs for threes attempted in a half (31) and a full game (61).

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni told ESPN's Calvin Watkins:

"We're just trying to take the right shots in the sense of either a three or a layup ... Something has got to be there. A team has to choose. I really feel like we don't force many."
