Suspect in gambling investigation Williams will not be participating in athletic competition while part of an ongoing gambling investigation in college basketball, Pat Forde of Sports Illustrated reports.

Impact Williams has yet to participate in basketball activities since enrolling at Western Michigan. He's being investigated as part of the NCAA's ongoing gambling investigation across college basketball. The events under investigation took place prior to his transfer to the Broncos, meaning it likely happened at his time at Robert Morris during the 2023-24 season. Williams sat out all of last season with a knee injury and may not see the floor at the collegiate level ever again.

Impact No longer in the doghouse, Williams is expected to be a substitute option for Louisiana State, who continuously struggled without him but defeated Georgia to maintain a spot in the 2023 SEC Tournament. The sophomore averaged 16.1 minutes across his 22 games from Nov. 9 to March 8.

No explanation from the team has been given for that anomaly, and while Williams will be a risky fantasy asset until the situation is explained, it at least appears he may be back in the staff's good graces following a somewhat-normal workload Saturday.
