Bills add OL depth by signing Hart to 1-year deal
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills added experienced starting depth to their offensive line by signing Bobby Hart to a one-year contract on Tuesday.
Hart is a sixth-year player who spent the previous three seasons starting at right tackle for the Cincinnati Bengals. He was part of a Bengals' offensive line that helped running back Joe Mixon top 1,100 yards rushing in both the 2018 and ’19 seasons.
Listed at 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, Hart spent his first three seasons with the New York Giants after being selected in the seventh round of the 2015 draft out of Florida State.
Overall, the 26-year-old has 66 starts in 79 career games.
In Buffalo, Hart joins a line that returns intact after the Bills re-signed tackle Daryl Williams and interior lineman Jon Feliciano before they were eligible to enter free agency. Hart at the very least provides insurance behind Williams, who started all 16 games at right tackle last season.
The Bills have placed an offseason emphasis on improving their running attack, which ranked 20th in the NFL after gaining 1,723 yards — Buffalo’s fewest since 2014.
