Lands at UTEP Sjolund has transferred from Georgia Tech to the University of Texas-El Paso, Ken Sugiura of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Impact Sjolund appeared in 21 games for the Yellow Jackets back in the 2018-19 season, posting 3.0 points and 1.0 rebounds across 9.4 minutes. With another projected season of sparse playing time ahead, he ultimately elected to take a redshirt and sit out the 2019-20 campaign. The 6-8 forward has since elected to take his talents elsewhere, but as an undergrad transfer, he'd traditionally have to sit out a year due to the NCAA transfer rules. Waivers that grant an exception to this have been more prevalent than ever in 2020, and Sjolund presumably has a good chance of getting one considering he didn't play at all last season.
