Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale back in Real Madrid training
Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale missed Real Madrid's match against Espanyol over the weekend, but the Merengues did just fine thanks to the heroics of James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema. It doesn't look like Zinedine Zidane's team will have to worry about another match without their two superstars, though.
Both Ronaldo and Bale were back in training on Monday and all indications are that they were full participants. That puts them on track to be available for Real Madrid's clash with Villarreal on Wednesday.
Ronaldo simply had the flu over the weekend so his return is no surprise. Once the illness is gone, he's going to be right back on the pitch. There was more concern over Bale, who hurt his hip in Champions League action last week, but the injury has proven to be minor.
Real Madrid are in the middle of a very busy stretch of matches. Between the Champions League last week, their La Liga clash with Villarreal this week and the Champions League again next week, they have two matches a week for three straight weeks, taking them right into the October international break. Zidane has said he's going to rotate his squad and even if it was forced by injury over the weekend, Ronaldo and Bale did get some much-needed rest.
