SportSouth to air 81 Grizzlies games for 2014-15 season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- On Thursday, the Memphis Grizzlies announced that SportSouth would televise 81 games from the club's 2014-15 schedule -- a franchise record for local broadcasts.
Memphis will launch the SportSouth package on Oct. 29, as the Grizzlies host Andrew Wiggins (the No. 1 overall pick in the June draft) and the Minnesota Timberwolves at FedExForum (7 p.m. CST).
Grizz Nation will be able to follow the Grizzlies across the NBA landscape throughout the season, as SportSouth will broadcast 40 of the team's road tilts this season, including a meeting with LeBron James and the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers at 3:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, Dec. 21 at Quicken Loans Arena.
As previously announced, Memphis will play one game on national television this season, a road meeting with reigning NBA MVP Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder at 7 p.m. CST on Friday, Nov. 7 at Chesapeake Energy Arena, meaning that the Grizzlies' entire 41-game road slate will be locally televised.
Play-by-play broadcaster Pete Pranica returns for his 11th season as the television voice of the Grizzlies, joining analysts Brevin Knight and Sean Tuohy. Rob Fischer enters his eighth season as the sideline reporter and new Grizzlies LIVE! Pre and Postgame host for all Grizzlies telecasts.
New to this season, the Grizzlies and SportSouth will introduce Grizzlies LIVE! Postgame postgame show, in addition to a newly formatted Grizzlies LIVE! Pregame.
Debuting this programming will be a familiar team of talent, featuring Fischer and Knight, alongside Chris Vernon, who will join the guys for each home game. They will give viewers complete breakdowns and in-depth analysis, including interviews and special features for all 81 telecasts on SportSouth.
All 82 Grizzlies regular season games will also be carried live on 92.9 FM ESPN Radio and will feature play-by-play announcer Eric Hasseltine and analyst Hank McDowell.
Coverage begins with the pregame show 30 minutes prior to tip-off co-hosted by Gary Darby and Jon Roser. Both Darby and Roser will also provide in-depth analysis throughout the postgame show following each game broadcast.
