Putting on a show: Heat's Riley, Spoelstra take stage for Battioke

Former Miami Heat player Shane Battier kicked off the fourth edition of South Beach Battioke in style Tuesday night, complete with shiny silver pants, by singing Right Said Fred's pop classic "I'm Too Sexy."

Guests, including Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes, Heat owner Micky Arison and local philanthropists attending the annual karaoke charity event at the Fillmore Miami Beach theater, were then treated to Battier's rendition of the 1990's hit "Just Another Day" featuring surprise guest singer Jon Secada.

Among the more memorable performances, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra joined in on the fun with a version of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" along with girlfriend Nikki Sapp that was heavy on creative dancing but short on actual singing.

As is the case every year, Heat president Pat Riley came through once more with a rousing rendition of "Twist and Shout" along with a bevy of ladies dancing behind him on the stage.

Michael Beasley and Henry Walker are the latest players to join the Heat, and the former college teammates paired up once more to sing Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles."

All profits from the popular event benefit Battier's "Take Charge Foundation," which he founded with his wife, Heidi. The organization awards college scholarships for at risk and underprivileged students in South Florida, Houston and Detroit and also has partnerships with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, KIPP Academy in Houston and Horizon Upward Bound in Detroit.
