Pelicans lose for Davis 1-2 weeks, Anderson for 2-4 weeks

The New Orleans Pelicans will have to cope without the firepower of forwards Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson for the near future after both players went down with injuries Saturday in Miami.
An MRI confirmed that Davis re-aggravated the right shoulder sprain that held him out of the recent NBA All Star game. He is now expected to miss 1-2 weeks.
Anderson also underwent an MRI, which revealed an MCL sprain in his right knee. The injury is supposed to sideline the Pelicans' sixth man for 2-4 weeks.
The injuries come on the heels of word that point guard Jrue Holiday is out for another 3 weeks as he heals from a stress reaction in his right leg.
New Orleans is currently ninth in the Western Conference, trying to catch the Oklahoma City Thunder. The injuries certainly come as a big blow to the Pelicans' anticipated play off push.
