NBA shows support for longtime broadcaster with 'Suit Up For Sager Night'

The Philips Arena floor was littered with conspicuous purple shirts prior to Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals in Atlanta on Wednesday night. The shirts, reading "Suit Up For Sager," were worn by every TNT crew member to show support for Atlanta staple and longtime broadcaster Craig Sager, who continues to battle leukemia.

Along with the shirts, the Hawks and Cavaliers asked fans to follow suit in recognition of Sager's famously outlandish attire. The purple shirts weren't the only outfits standing out: TNT's broadcasting crew of Marv Albert, Chris Webber and Reggie Miller and other prominent members of Sager's station joined in as well.

Sager was originally diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia before missing the entire 2014 NBA season. After a brief remission, the leukemia returned in March. Wednesday night was a reminder of just how significant of an NBA staple he's become during his career.
