Heat reportedly add veteran center Chris Johnson to training camp roster

With just one spot left to reach the maximum of 20 players to bring into training camp, the Miami Heat on Wednesday reportedly signed journeyman center Chris Johnson to complete their roster.
Johnson, 29, has bounced around several pro basketball leagues since going undrafted out of LSU in 2009. After pit stops in Turkey and Poland, he played for the Dakota Wizards in the D-League and then transitioned to the NBA with the Portland Trailblazers in 2011.
He played with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2013 before signing on with the Zhejiang Lions in China.
The 6-foot-11 center, who was signed to the veteran's minimum, will head into training camp in competition for a roster spot among the likes of Shawn Jones, Shawne Williams, Justin Hamilton, Andre Dawkins and Khem Birch.
Miami will hold their annual media day event at the AmericanAirlines Arena on Friday, Sept. 26, prior to the start of training camp.
