When the pressure is on, and the game has come down to free throws, a player has to relax.

And for Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki, the way to relax is to sing..."Mr. Jones" by the Counting Crows.

In an interview for a new podcast titled "Awesome Boring" from Giblet Media, Nowitzki says when he was younger, he struggled at the foul line in pressure situations. His then coach suggested he sing to keep his mind relaxed.

"Mr. Jones" became his go-to song despite not knowing all the words. Though he no longer sings when he's at the charity stripe, he did sing for the podcast, and it was glorious.

Is it surprising the Dirk sings at the free throw line? Not so much, but what is surprising is that he's not singing David Hasselhoff "Looking for Freedom."

He sings that song everywhere else, why not the free-throw line?
