Cardinals' Peterson, Mathieu named to All-Pro team

BY foxsports • January 8, 2016

NEW YORK -- In a measure of the strength of its secondary, Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson and safety Tyrann Mathieu were selected to the 2015 Associated Press NFL All-Pro team.

The Cardinals are one of five teams to have two players selected to the team. The other four teams were the Patriots, Steelers, Bengals and Rams.

The Carolina Panthers, with an NFL-best 15-1 record, had the most All-Pros with six: quarterback Cam Newton, fullback Mike Tolbert, center Ryan Kalil, linebackers Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis, and cornerback Josh Norman.

The accolade, considered more exclusive than a Pro Bowl selection, is the third for Peterson (2011 and 2013), and the first for Mathieu, who three weeks ago was lost for the season to a knee injury.
