Andre Johnson on Texans: 'Is this still the place for me?'

While many have tabbed the Texans' draft as a success, highlighted by the team taking Jadeveon Clowney with the first overall pick, the current state of the franchise has star wide receiver Andre Johnson wondering if he is still a fit in Houston.
"Nobody's been here as long as I have. You just kind of look at things; I've been thinking about things this offseason," Johnson told the Houston Chronicle. "And I kind of wonder sometimes, 'Is this still the place for me?'"
Johnson, who says the Texans are in a rebuilding process, despite owner Bob McNair insisting they aren't, reportedly doesn't plan to attend OTAs or an upcoming mandatory camp and is unsure if he wants to remain in Houston this season with Bill O'Brien stepping in as the new head coach.
"When you bring a new coach in, you go through a rebuilding process," Johnson said. "Some people say it's not. Some people say it's a quick fix. Everybody has their own opinion. But I've been through the situation more than once."
Johnson, who was the Texans' third-overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, entering his 12th season with the team, has made it clear that losing has worn on him over the years.
"I just look at my career. ... I've only been to the playoffs twice. I think we've only had three winning seasons," Johnson said. "I don't think any player wants to experience that. I think over time it can become very frustrating. And this offseason has been very frustrating for me; beginning of the offseason, I should say. That's just kind of where I'm at right now."
While Johnson is clearly unhappy with the current outlook of the Texans, he did reportedly make it clear he has not requested a trade and isn't concerned with his contract.
"I'm just taking some time, thinking about some things," Johnson said. "You know, when I make my decision I'll make my decision and go from there."
