Will Dexter McCluster ever find his fit in Tennessee?
By Cameron Duval
With an offense that was out-gained by their opponents in pretty much every offensive category you could think of in 2014, the Titans need potential weapons to step up.
One of the Titans that can provide their offense with a certain spark or x-factor in 2015, could be the versatile Dexter McCluster.
McCluster can be considered an athlete above all other classifications.
He’s lined up as a receiver, in the backfield and as a member of special teams (punt returner/kick returner).
In speaking with reporters, McCluster said, “Right now, I know the plays, I know what I have to do, I know who I have to read and I’m feeling a lot more comfortable.” via Paul Kuharsky of espn.com.
It’s only a matter of time.
Flashback to 2013 for a second and take a look at what McCluster was able to accomplish:
Non-offensive touchdowns - 2 (third in the NFL)
Punt returns - 58 (first in the NFL)
Punt return yards - 686 (first in the NFL)
Punt returns for touchdowns - 2 (first in the NFL)
Named second-team All-Pro
Member of the AFC Pro Bowl team
I’d say that McCluster just needs some time to settle in as a Titan, after all it took him three seasons in Kansas City to finally find his groove and perform at the highest level.
If the Titans are able to figure out the most effective way to use him, he can be a scary thought for defenses, one that might often be overlooked.
