Wideouts Floyd, Brown among seven to sit out practice for Cardinals
Both starting guards and two of the top three wide receivers did not practice for the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday.
Wideouts Michael Floyd and John Brown both sat out with hamstring injuries. Floyd was hurt in Sunday's win at Seattle while Brown has been dealing with the issue for more than a month, sitting out at Cleveland in Week 8 prior to the team's bye.
Left guard Mike Iupati, who was carted off the field Sunday night after taken a shoulder to the head, passed his concussion protocol and has been medically cleared, coach Bruce Arians said, but he did not practice.
Right guard Jonathan Cooper (ankle), defensive lineman Cory Redding (ankle), linebacker Markus Golden (ankle) and cornerback Justin Bethel (flu) also sat out in advance of Sunday's matchup against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals.
“We’re definitely banged up, beat up and guys have to make plays," Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer said. "Guys have to step up.”
Floyd has scored at least one touchdown in four straight games and is coming off a seven-catch, 113-yard performance versus the Seahawks. Brown has been slowed since erupting for 10 catches and 196 yards at Pittsburgh in Week 6.
“He needs to get back to full strength,” Arians said. “He’s probably hesitant to let it go. He’s let it go in practice a few times and it was OK, but I think he’s afraid of tearing it.”
