Why Jonas Gray will never oversleep for practice again
fNew England Patriots running back Jonas Gray followed up his four-touchdown performance by showing up late to practice on Friday.
Gray, who was sent home from the team facility, overslept after his phone died, a source told FOX Sports 1's NFL insider Mike Garafolo. Gray drove right to Gillette Stadium, but head coach Bill Belichick's policy on tardiness prevailed.
While Gray, per Garafolo, texted teammates including quarterback Tom Brady to apologize, others are having some fun at the third-year running back's mishap.
Mophie, a company that specializes in battery-pack cases for iPhones, tweeted at Gray on Saturday morning.
Hey @jgray_ND25, it's all good. Even we oversleep sometimes, not b/c of a dead phone. Shoot us a DM and we'll fix that.
