Watt progressing well in recovery after groin surgery
HOUSTON (AP) J.J. Watt has almost completely recovered from offseason groin surgery.
Houston's star defensive end had the surgery in January and talked about his recovery on Wednesday as the Texans gathered for an offseason workout.
He says: ''I feel great. It's coming along really well, very close to getting back to 100 percent.''
Watt won his third Defensive Player of the Year award last season after leading the NFL with 17 1/2 sacks.
He says he doesn't have a timetable for when he expects to be back to where he was before the injury, but is working toward that goal.
He says: ''I think I'm farther along than maybe I thought I'd be. It's just day to day and no worries whatsoever moving forward ... now it's just a matter of building back to being better than where I was before which is my goal.''
