The Minnesota Vikings have a new offensive coordinator after Norv Turner resigned last week as the brains behind a struggling unit.
It’s doubtful, though, that new coordinator Pat Shurmur had this play in mind to jump-start the offense: In the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, quarterback Sam Bradford threw a pass that was batted back to him before he completed the play by running for a 5-yard gain.
Unfortunately for the Vikings, that play worked better than most in the first half. Minnesota trailed 10-3 after gaining only 105 total yards in the first two quarters.
