Entering Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, the Washington Redskins were ranked 29th in rushing offense, averaging 75.7 yards on 3.8 carry a game. Jones proved Sunday the Redskins can rely on his legs. He saved the team from 1-3 start and avoided remaining winless at home.

In last week’s game against the Giants, the 23-year-old Jones gained 35 yards in fourth quarter and helped to power the Skins to their first win. Jones is now gaining momentum, and he could continue to impress as the season goes along.

Redskins must continue to feed Jones the ball to open up the offense for play-actions. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson can outrun any defensive back in the league, so there’s no reason why he shouldn’t get couple of looks down the field each game.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins didn’t have a spectacular game, but he managed to bounce back after his first half interception. The fifth year man had a passer rating of 116.5 and threw for 183 yards on 21-27 with three touchdowns. Tight end Jordan Reed continues his impressive display hauling in 9 receptions for 73 yards to go along with two touchdowns. He definitely made his case to be considered the best tight end in the NFL.

If the Redskins want to have any success in 2016, the team has to start tackling better. Browns running Isaiah Crowell‘s broke countless of tackles on his way to 115 yards on 15 carries. Defensive Coordinator, Joe Barry, had to be furious with his defense lack of tackling fundamentals that nearly cost the skins a win.

Indeed, the team struggled to stop the Browns running game, but with defense forcing three turnovers, you’re almost guaranteed to win every game. Redskins must break this habit and play better defensively to repeat last year’s triumph.
