Walker out for 49ers with jaw injury

Published Dec. 24, 2011 10:06 p.m. ET

San Francisco tight end/fullback Delanie Walker is out with a jaw injury suffered after taking an inadvertent knee to his face.

Walker was hurt on a first-down run by Frank Gore in the final minute of the first quarter Saturday against Seattle. Walker was the lead blocker for Gore, but fell as he went through the hole. As he went down, Walker was caught by a knee to the face from Seattle linebacker Leroy Hill, who was trying to jump over Walker as he pursued Gore.

Walker's helmet went flying downfield after getting hit by Hill and he was down on the turf for a few minutes before being helped up and taken off on a cart with a towel to his mouth.
