NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) The Tennessee Titans have placed undrafted rookie cornerback and kick returner Morgan Burns on the reserve/retired list only days after signing him to the roster.
The Titans announced the move Tuesday.
His agent Brandon Smart said in an email to The Associated Press that Burns retired to pursue a career in the ministry, which was first reported by TitanInsider.com.
Burns signed May 6 in time to attend the Titans' rookie minicamp. He returned four kicks for touchdowns last season at Kansas State where coaches voted him the Big 12 special teams player of the year. He also started 24 of 48 career games at cornerback and was timed at 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash at his pro day.
