I cant remember this ever happening before. Perhaps it has, but it’s been a long time. Who Dat Nation can stomach an NFL bye week but no local college football too? So how does one cope with no football this week in New Orleans. Actually, there’s a variety of choices that a person can choose right here in the “Big Easy.” Here are just a few ideas.

There is no other favorite hobby of mine to do then eat. New Orleans is the city of gluttony when it comes to food. My personal favorite is oysters. I’m talking raw oysters, grilled, fried, oyster dressing, oyster rockefella, raw, oyster po boys, and shrimp and oyster platters. I know my friend Bubba is more of a shrimp guy.

There’s plenty of shrimp plates here too along with gumbo, jambalaya, soft shell crabs, and much much more. Eating is a way of life here. If you move here with a 32″ waist. You might wanna buy a few pairs of pants with a 36″ waist for stand by.

So another New Orleans tradition is calling up a few of your closest friends and indulging in the best of the beverages that include all kinds. There’s the well known “Hand Grenade” and the world famous “Hurricanes” that many tourists usually hit while they visit.

Locals also like to partake in various social gatherings that can include some fancy martinis or maybe a Bloody Mary for breakfast at 7 a.m. The idea of toasting Mimosas with your scrambled eggs may seem a little odd anywhere else. Here it’s just another day in New Orleans. Of course, us Who Dats advocate for responsible drinking. So don’t be one of those people that spill your drink please…

While this is somewhat hard to believe, New Orleans people don’t just wear costumes only at Mardi Gras. While I can’t guarantee you’ll see a grown man wearing a crawfish outfit, I can bet that the entertainment sitting on a corner can be a hoot. There is no way of really explaining this until you come on down here. But trust me, people watching just never gets old.

The sound of music will captivate you here. It doesn’t matter how old you are. It doesn’t matter even if you like music. The sounds here will get you to move. Some of the best music here can be found on every street corner literally. If you don’t believe me then watch this!
