TE Kevin Boss makes debut for Raiders

Published Sep. 25, 2011 4:16 p.m. ET

Tight end Kevin Boss is making his debut for the Oakland Raiders after missing the first two games with an injured left knee.

Boss is active for Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey also was active after missing last week's game with a knee injury.

Nick Miller was inactive for the first time this season after struggling on returns the first two games. Rookies Taiwan Jones and Denarius Moore are expected to take over that role with Miller out and kick returner Jacoby Ford injured.

Jets All-Pro center Nick Mangold is missing his first career game after not taking the trip West because of a high ankle sprain. Colin Baxter is starting in his place.
