Super Bowl LI: Three Free Agents For Carolina

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 1:41 a.m. ET

With little to root for in Super Bowl LI, at least Carolina Panthers fans can watch for a few future members of the black and blue…

While Super Bowl LI is the Carolina Panthers worst nightmare, you still have to watch the game. That said, rather than having a rooting interest, the best way to watch is to find a couple of players who could be helping the Panthers get to the Super Bowl next season.

Following are three potential free agents to watch.

Sebastian Vollmer, RT

The starting right tackle for the Patriots will be a free agent this offseason. While he may cost a pretty penny, the Panters are desperate for help on the offensive line. He has been one of the best-rated offensive linemen in the second half of the season, fits a huge need, and is worth watching on Sunday as he takes on Vic Beasley. Especially since Beasley is shaping up to be someone who will be a menace to Panther fans for years to come.

Logan Ryan, CB

Ryan typically mans the slot, Carolina’s biggest secondary need. With Daryl Worley and James Bradberry on the outside, Ryan would be the perfect fit to complete the secondary. He should see a lot of Taylor Gabriel and if the Panthers have to see Gabriel twice a year, his performance will certainly be worth monitoring.

Aldrick Robinson, WR

Robinson may get minimal playing time, but when he sees snaps for the Falcons he is a big play waiting to happen. The Falcons have three wide receivers ahead of him on the depth chart and after a surprise strong season, he could definitely be on the market. Devin Funchess has been a disappointment and Ted Ginn is a free agent. Robinson could be a cheap buy with high upside and a player worth stealing from the division rival Falcons.
