Stress fracture extends practice drought to 6 weeks for 49ers' Hyde
Running back Carlos Hyde remained away from practice Wednesday for the San Francisco 49ers.
Hyde has missed four consecutive games and has not practiced since the 49ers' 20-3 home loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 22 due to a stress fracture in his left foot.
San Francisco does not have a rushing touchdown since Hyde scored in a 30-27 loss at the New York Giants on Oct. 11. That's also the game in which Hyde initially suffered the injury, although he played in the next two contests.
Also sitting out practice Wednesday were inside linebackers Michael Wilhoite (ankle) and NaVorro Bowman, although Bowman typically takes Wednesday off. Linebacker Ahmad Brooks, who missed last week's game due to a concussion, received clearance to return to practice.
Tight end Garrett Celek, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals, also missed practice and is not expected to play in this weekend's matchup at the Chicago Bears.
