Stephen Jones: 'I don't see us using any picks to trade for veteran ballplayers'
We are in the thick of draft season, so everything that is said and reported should be taken with a grain of salt. Having said that, Cowboys VP Stephen Jones was adamant about keeping all of his draft picks when asked Tuesday about a potential upcoming trade.
“I don’t see that happening,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “I think draft picks are so important for us. That’s where your value is in this salary cap era. I see us using all of our picks and hopefully do it in a good, wise way. Hopefully when the draft is all said and done, we’ll have really improved our football team.

Jones used strong and definitive language, but it was only a few short seasons ago that he pulled the trigger on a draft day trade that sent multiple picks to the St. Louis Rams to move up to No. 6 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft to acquire Morris Claiborne.
