Steelers LT Beachum named secret superstar by Pro Football Focus
Steelers left tackle Kelvin Beachum has quietly become the team's best offensive lineman, leading analytics site Pro Football Focus to name him the team's 'secret superstar' for 2015.
Beachum, a seventh-round pick in 2013, was rated as PFF's fifth best tackle of 2015, mainly on the strength of his pass blocking. His pass-blocking grade was fourth in the league while his pass-blocking efficiency was only behind Cincinnati's Andrew Whitworth and Joe Thomas of Cleveland.
Despite already being ranked among the league's bests, Pro Football Focus believes that Beachum's trajectory is still pointing north. If he can improve his run blocking to the level of his pass protection, Beachum will certainly become a more complete tackle.
Going into the final year of his rookie deal, Beachum has without question outplayed his draft selection and become one of the best young tackles in the league. The Steelers were fortunate enough to find this diamond in the rough and though they’ve been up against the cap in recent seasons, extending Beachum either this offseason or next should be a top priority.

The fact that he's in a contract year would certainly lead us to believe that Beachum will bring it this season. The fourth-year man out of SMU is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is set to earn just over $1.5 million in 2015.
