Stanford defensive duo bring familiarity to Colts

The Indianapolis Colts liked what they saw in former Stanford defensive linemen Henry Anderson and David Parry - so much so that they decided to select both in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The pair, who played alongside one another in college and were roommates in Palo Alto, bring a close knowledge of each other's games to Indianapolis.

"We took a ton of reps next to each other," Anderson said, according to the Indianapolis Star. "We were on scout team next to each other and eventually moved on to starters. All the reps we've taken together, we kind of just know what (the other is) going to do on a certain play."

Anderson was taken in third round of the draft, while Parry was picked in the fifth. Together, they helped changed Stanford's identity from the offensive power it was when Colts teammates Andrew Luck and Coby Fleener played there, into a team known for its defense.

"When Luck and Fleener were at Stanford, it was more of an offensively-based team," Parry said. "And then we kind of took the reins for a couple of years. So hopefully we can come and help the (Colts) defense out."
