Source: Saints to host DE Little for visit
The rich may get richer and the poor even poorer if New Orleans successful completes its first free-agent conquest of the offseason.
A source told FOXSports.com that the Saints will host St. Louis defensive end Leonard Little on a visit Wednesday and Thursday.
The 35-year-old Little has played with the lowly Rams for all 12 of his NFL seasons. Little started 13 games last season and had 6.5 sacks on a 1-15 squad. He has 87.5 career sacks.
If signed, Little would help compensate for the pass rush that New Orleans lost by releasing end Charles Grant last week and seeing outside linebacker Scott Fujita sign with Cleveland on Sunday. Because of its status as defending Super Bowl champion under the NFL’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement rules, New Orleans wasn’t allowed to sign an unrestricted free agent from another team until losing one of its own.
