Should the Raiders try to claim ex-Jets pass rusher Quinton Coples?

Former first-round pick Quinton Coples is no longer a New York Jet.
The Raiders should come calling immediately. They could use another defender to plug up a three-game slide and mask paralyzing defensive struggles.
Coples isn't a cure-all. He's a decent standup linebacker with a few tricks in his pass-rushing repertoire -- but that's better than most options the Raiders field right now.
That's particularly true after Aldon Smith's year-long suspension. Coples could be the Silver and Black's stop-gap until Smith returns next November.
It seems like just the move Reggie McKenzie would make at the ninth spot on waivers. After all, he snagged cornerback David Amerson off the wire and thrust him into starting duty earlier this fall.
It's worth a look. Copleswas once the No. 16 overall pick and hasn't lost much of his athletic ability.
