It’s not often a team cuts its leading rusher, but that’s exactly what the Seattle Seahawks did Tuesday, releasing fifth-year running back Christine Michael.
Michael leads the Seahawks in rushing yards (469) and rushing touchdowns (6) in 2016, but the 26-year-old has seen his production slip significantly the past three weeks.
Michael has rushed for only 63 yards on 20 carries since Seattle’s Week 8 loss to the Saints. It’s unclear if the Seahawks’ move Tuesday signaled the team's unhappiness with his recent production.

Seattle now turns to rookie C.J. Prosise and Thomas Rawls to fill in the hole at running back.
