Seahawks in holding pattern with Lynch set to see specialist Tuesday
The Seattle Seahawks are in wait-and-see mode regarding the condition of running back Marshawn Lynch.
Lynch flew to Philadelphia on Monday to consult with a specialist for an abdominal injury that forced him to sit out Sunday's 29-13 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Lynch will meet with Dr. William Meyers until Tuesday.
"Then we will go from there," said Carroll, who said after Sunday's game that Lynch could be facing surgery and that "nothing is ruled out."
Lynch had been an ironman coming into this season, missing just one game in his previous four years with Seattle. Lynch sat out two games earlier in the season with a sore knee and has been battling the abdominal issue for the past two weeks.
Rookie Thomas Rawls received the start in place of Lynch on Sunday and tore through the 49ers for a career-best 209 yards on 30 carries while scoring a pair of touchdowns.
