Seahawks' Carroll breaks out highlight reels for motivational push

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll unveiled a motivational ploy for his team on the eve of Sunday's 38-7 drubbing of the Minnesota Vikings.

Facing a rugged road test against a division leader, Carroll set up a movie night for his team Saturday. His personalized film featured clips of his players from their college days mixed with highlights of their tenure with the Seahawks.

The highlight show was a resounding success and players told reporters following Sunday's cakewalk over the Vikings that the message hit home.

"It's a child’s game, and we just have to continue to enjoy it," Seattle safety Earl Thomas said. "He said that we’re still the same player that we were in college and said that we’re going to make the same plays in the NFL that we did in college."

The Seahawks responded with their most complete performance of the season, not allowing an offensive touchdown while posting their most lopsided victory to extend their winning streak to three games.

“That was special," quarterback Russell Wilson said. “That was one of the coolest highlights we’ve ever had, a mixture of some of our Seahawks highlights and some of our college plays, too. Just to watch the similarities and just realizing that we play the greatest game in the world, we get to play football."
