Rookie wide receiver out for year

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Greg Salas, a rookie who leads the team with 27 receptions, will miss the rest of the season with a broken right leg that will require surgery.

Salas, a fourth-round draft pick, was injured when a tackler rolled on him after a 5-yard catch in the fourth quarter of Sunday's overtime loss at Arizona. He had seven catches for 59 yards Sunday.

Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday that quarterback Sam Bradford had general soreness in his left ankle and was back in a walking boot as a precaution.

Offensive tackle Jason Smith remained doubtful with a concussion that's sidelined him for two games, but defensive lineman Darell Scott appeared close to returning from a concussion that also forced him out of two games.
