Rex Ryan wouldn't say if LeSean McCoy returned to Buffalo with team

Following the Buffalo Bills' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, LeSean McCoy refused to speak to the media after throwing his helmet in frustration on his way to the locker room. His return to Philadelphia was spoiled by the Bills' 23-20 loss to the Eagles, which understandably led to a great deal of anger for McCoy.

In fact, he was so upset that he may not have even gone back to Buffalo with the team following the loss. Rex Ryan was asked about what McCoy did after the game, but he didn't exactly give reporters a definitive answer. Here's what Ryan said, via Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News.

"You know, I'm not going to get into all that kind of stuff about, you know, is this right? Is that right? It is what it is,"Ryan said. "I'm not going to say if he did or he didn't."

Ryan, who won in his return to the Meadowlands as the Bills beat the New York Jets, said he understands McCoy's frustration and thinks he could use "time to cool off." There was plenty of anticipation leading up to Sunday's game, and it obviously didn't meet McCoy's expectations.

"I can tell you this. Did it hurt him? Oh yeah, and it should hurt him," Ryan said. "There's a lot of people in that locker room that were -- I don't know if devastated is the right word -- but I think in his way, he probably was devastated by it. I know I was. Did I speak to the media afterwards? I did. Did I need some time to cool off? I absolutely did. Maybe he just needed a little more time to cool off."

McCoy and the Bills will take the field next against the Washington Redskins on Sunday with little chance of making the playoffs remaining. Still, there are plenty of reasons for Buffalo to continue to play hard, even after their latest loss. McCoy, Tyrod Taylor and Sammy Watkins have meshed well together and could be cornerstones on offense for years to come.
