Rex Ryan: 'Doesn't look real good' for LeSean McCoy to play Week 17
Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills are treating Sunday's game like it's their Super Bowl as they're set to take on the New York Jets. The Bills have nothing to play for, but the Jets need a win to get into the playoffs -- something Ryan hopes to prevent from happening.
Unfortunately, he'll probably have to beat his former team without his best offensive player on the field. LeSean McCoy missed Week 16 with a knee injury, and it doesn't sound like he'll be out there for the season finale, either.
Ryan said this on McCoy's Week 17 status Wednesday, via Mike Rodak of ESPN.
"We all know how it looks right now," Ryan said Wednesday. "So it probably doesn’t look real good but we’ll see, you know? I’ll say this: I'm never gonna put a player out there that I think’s at more of an injury risk or can’t defend themselves. Regardless of how competitive they are."
If McCoy sits out the finale, it'll be his fourth missed game this season. Still, he's rushed for 895 yards and added 292 more as a receiver. He's been named to the Pro Bowl for his performance in 2015, but it's unclear if he'll be able to play given his recent knee injury.
