Return of the bumblebees: Steelers will wear throwbacks vs. Bengals

The Steelers announced Wednesday that their bumblebee uniforms will make another appearance this season.

The black and yellow striped jerseys will greet the visiting Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8 on Nov. 1. Pittsburgh is 3-1 since bringing back the uniforms in 2012 to commemorate the team's 80th anniversary. Last year, the Steelers rolled over the Colts 51-34 in the bumblebee unis.

Guard Chris Hubbard loves the look of the throwback uniforms, telling PennLive.com, "It's just classic man. I mean nothing beats classic at all."

Tight end Matt Spaeth initially wasn't a fan of the throwbacks when he watched from home due to injury in 2013, but they've since grown on him.

"I was like 'Ugh, these things are kind of ugly,'" he said. "But then when I had them on I kind of liked it."

Kicker Shaun Suisham has his own reason for liking the uniforms, and is has nothing to do with aesthetics.

"I like the socks," he said. "The socks make me feel fast."
