Houston Texans backup safety Lonnie Ballentine underwent arthroscopic surgery on his injured knee Monday, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Ballentine reportedly was dealing with swelling in his knee over the last few weeks, and after the injury failed to respond to treatment, surgery was performed to help the healing process.
The last pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Ballentine is expected to be out at least a few weeks.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound safety spent all of last season on injured reserve. He made seven tackles in the preseason, showing enough promise to make the 53-man roster.
