Report: Melvin Gordon signs his rookie deal with the Chargers

The rookie that the Chargers could count on the most is reportedly finally under contract.

Melvin Gordon signed his rookie contract on Thursday, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson. Like all other first-round picks, Gordon will get four-year deal with a fifth-year team option.

The Bolts didn't wait to use that first rounder on Gordon. They traded up to the No. 15 spot to take the best single-season rusher in FBS history. The first-team All-American and Doak Walker Award recipient figures to contribute right away in head coach Mike McCoy's offense.
