Report: Mark Ingram misses Thursday's OTA practice

Published May. 28, 2015 9:18 p.m. ET

No reason to sweat it, as apparently the decision to hold out Mark Ingram from OTA's on Thursday was just a precaution. According to Mike Triplett of ESPN, the team kept Ingram and a "handful" of other players out of the action.

"We just backed off of him today. But he's been full speed up until this afternoon. He's doing well," Payton said to ESPN Ingram, who emerged last year as the Saints' workhorse running back before signing a four-year, $16 million deal this offseason. "He's just got a foot or an ankle. There's no injury specific."

This early in the offseason it's tough to read too much into this type of situation, but it's fully expected that Ingram will be back in action for the New Orleans Saints sooner than later.
