Report: Manziel slated for early April release from rehab
Johnny Manziel is expected to be released from rehab in early April, according to a new report.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler says that Manziel’s release date is fluid depending on how he progresses, but he is on target for an early April release, which would be two months spent in the facility. He checked into rehab on Jan. 28.
The Browns are expecting Manziel to be available when camp begins April 20, though they know his availability depends on external factors.
A previous report two weeks ago said that Manziel had left rehab, but it appears that was just a temporary leave. He is said to be doing “extremely well” while receiving treatment.
The Browns are expecting Manziel to compete for the starting quarterback job. They signed Josh McCown over the offseason and may also draft a QB.
