Report: Lions work out former Giants S Stevie Brown

The Detroit Lions might be looking for help at the safety position. According to a report from Pro Football Talk, the Lions brought in former New York Giants safety Stevie Brown for a workout on Tuesday.
Brown, 28, was a seventh-round draft pick out of Michigan in 2010. He has bounced around the league a bit but is most notable for his time spent with the Giants (2012-2014). Brown burst onto the scene with eight interceptions in 2012, then tore his ACL the following preseason and missed all of 2013.
Brown returned last season and played all 16 games (eight starts) for the Giants, although he did not intercept a single pass. He spent training camp with the Houston Texans before attempting a failed comeback with the Giants this summer.
The Lions worked out a handful of other free agents, too, including wide receiver Kaelin Clay, who was signed to the practice squad, according to ESPN's Field Yates (h/t ESPN's Michael Rothstein). Other attendees included safety Charles Godfrey and tight end Mickey Shuler.
